Kat Barker Bacon

Group Fitness Coach
she/her/hers

Fitness has always played a central role in Kat's life. She started playing sports at a very young age and went on to play varsity field hockey for Connecticut College. An ACL injury ended Kat's college field hockey career in her final season. Since her injury Kat became more aware of how her training practices were not supporting her body in positive ways. When Kat and her husband Wells moved to Puerto Rico in 2016, she found a small studio run by a couple that had classes ranging from Yoga to Strength training. There she worked closely with them to find new strength and understanding about the importance of variety and functional movement practices to help avoid injury in the future. She still practices many different types of movement, including strength training, boxing, spinning, biking, HIIT, running, yoga, and dancing! Kat just feels better when she's being active! It not only benefits her body but also her mind.

She began her teaching career at that same small studio in San Juan, Puerto Rico and loves leading others through her classes. She co-founded her company BaconBerry in March 2020 to help people gain access to accessible, virtual fitness options when the pandemic hit. When Kat isn't training, she works from home for a fully remote software company called Vowel, runs BaconBerry, and loves to hang out with her dogs.
